Paragliding - Nervures LOL lightweight mountain and speed flying paraglider
Nervures‘ LOL is a mountain and adventure paraglider: a lightweight and compact wing that is uses trimmers to convert it from a soaring glider into a speed flying wing.
Available in standard (which Nervures describe as light yet highy durable) and ultra light versions (the latter being so small it only half fills a standard mountain ‘sac and tips the scales at a mere 2.7 kg), the LOL is aimed at mountain flyers and those who like to travel the globe with a small wing.
Nervures say they have kept things simple: short lines, no speed bar (trimmers eliminate the need). The French company say the LOL is just fun to fly: its easy launch, precise handling and small turning circle make it super-agile and easy to core small thermals, yet flat turns are easy too and it has a good glide for a wing of this type.
Let the trimmers off, and you suddenly have a speed flying wing, which you can ‘swoop’ around, carving along the contours of the landscape. Nervures say they have taken care to make the canopy as turbulence-resistant as possible.
LOLs are delivered with risers with trimmers, inner bag, repair kit and manual, and a choice of rucksack: For the ultimate lightweight experience, the 20 litre Mini Flash weighs only 340g and holds a LOL, lightweight harness, gloves, jacket and some water. You could alternatively opt for their standard 55 litre ‘sack, or the 75 litre mountain ‘sack.
The LOL is certified En B. Nervures advise that whilst at 60kg all-up weight the LOL is a very accessible wing, it is much more dynamic at 90 kg.
