Markus Prantl: paraglider pilot in the 2008 Dolomitenmann Race
The Red Bull Dolomitenmann is recognised as one of the toughest adventure events of the year. Participants from all over the world compete in a tough iron man style competition, in teams of four: a mountain runner, mountain biker, kayaker and speed gliding pilot race battle it out in the rugged setting of the Dolomites.
110 Teams from all over the world took part in this year’s event, on 12 September. The winner of the paragliding section, Markus Prantl, flew an Airwave Speedmachine to his victory.
Registration opens for the 2017 X-Berg Challenge on 30 September 2016. The competition pits paraglider pilots, trail runners and mountain bikers against each other in a race across Drakensberg, South Africa, and takes place from 1-5 March 2017.
