Guides and Guiding: Skygods for Hire

Tuesday 25 May, 2010

Sky Gods for Hire in Cross Country issue 129 argued that flying guides could help hang glider and paraglider pilots skip weeks of do-it-yourself learning. But it also argued you want a sky god for a guide, not a cowboy and asked “Is it time for an internationally recognised standard for fly-guides?”

At the end of the 3,000 word article that looked at the systems around the world, from Spain’s authoritarian approach to South Africa’s realistic stance to northern Europe’s attitude of ‘they don’t exist’ it asked for comments. You can either email the editor at editor@xccontent.local or leave your thoughts about such a system on this page here.

Comments may be edited and published in the next issue of Cross Country.
