Frank Brown and Kamira Pereira have flown Sol Tracers to the top spots in both the Open and Women’s categories of the Brazilian paragliding Nationals 2009, making Frank the Brazilian champion for the ninth time and Kamira female champion for the fifth.
Marcelo Prieto demonstrated his consistency and good form, taking second place overall. The second and final leg was flown in Araxá in October.
This is a great result for the Brazilians, all three of whom are also up there in the world record claims: Frank and Marcelo held the world paraglider distance record of 461.6 km for a year until Nevil Hulett’s 507 km flight last December. And if her 323 km flight a week ago is ratified, Kamira will become the Women’s World Record holder.
