The first of the 2017 Bordairline events, which have been re-named Bordairrace, takes place at Kampenwand, Germany on 6-7 May 2017.
A reminder of the Bordairline rules:
The start takes place on the day of the race at 8 am. Pilots can travel by foot or paraglider, and the aim is to get as far as possible from the starting point and be able to get back again before 5pm the next day – an elapsed time of 33 hours. At least 20% of the route must be flown. Failure to make it back to the finish line before 5pm, or failure to fly at least 20% of the route, will result in penalties.
This year for the first time there will be separate prizes for ladies and rookies.
There are some great prizes to be won, including paragliders, harnesses, instruments and reserves.
Non-flying companions will be able to join in on guided walking tours, and there will be Nova wings available to test fly.
